Talking with Mack Collier
Mack is probably best known as the creator of #BlogChat - one of the largest and most popular chats on Twitter. Every Sunday night at 8p central, a few hundred folks log into Twitter to chat about the topic de jure. When he's not running #BlogChat, you can find Mack counseling companies and people large and small on the ins and outs of Social Media and writing his excellent social media blog.
While I've known Mack for several years now, he was one of my select six, the group of Twitter elite that helped push my Mardi Gras Twitter social media marketing campaign back in 2009, I've not actually had a chance to sit and really talk business with him. That all changed during SXSW this year when I was able to grab a few minutes of his time at the Hilton.
Apologies about the audio -- as with pretty much all the videos I did at SXSW this year, there is the ever present din of background noise that's generated when 12,000 plus people decend on a 10 square block area of any city.
But give it a watch and I think you'll hear something that is really, and I do mean, really interesting. Personally I loved Mack's thoughts about "What's Next," maybe because they mirror many of my own Microcontent Strategy thoughts, or maybe because his idea really is what I hope the next iteration of marketing approaches will be in the very near future.
Give it a view and then let me know what you think. I'd be most interested in hearing your thoughts via the comments.
As always, a big thanks to the email marketing company, Emma, for underwriting the costs to produce this little project. If you want to learn more about Emma and their email marketing system, just click that link you just read.
Now if you'll excuse me, could have sworn I just heard someone say BURN NOTICE!
Are you thinking, jeepers this is great, the only think that would make it better would be if I could have this sent directly to my email? Click the link and you can. Just another way Talking With Tom is working to make you a better you in 2011. See ya in your in box.
